The most common cause is that you both entered slightly different names (e.g. "Alex" vs "alex"). Both phones must use the exact same names — spelling and capitalization. Open the app, tap "Change Pairing", and try again with matching names.
No. tap ME is free with a one-time in-app upgrade if you want to remove ads or pair with more than one partner.
